November Newsletter

Infant One
We hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween.
This month our focus is on different textures. We will be exploring textures such as dry pasta, leaves, pinecones, paint bags etc. We also made a tug box that has different materials that the infants can touch and pull on. We do this so that the infants can work on their fine motor skill and their sense of touch.

For art we will be working on Turkeys for Thanksgiving. We will celebrate Milan and Evelyn’s 1st birthdays this month. Happy Birthday to you both!

Please be sure to check your child’s bin to make sure they have the proper extra clothes.

Infant Two
The babies are busy learning and growing. Frankie and Levi love their time in the gym, climbing on the mats and walking with the push toys. Frankie will be celebrating her 1st birthday. How exciting! Everett and Paul are enjoying their tummy time, rolling around and giggling at each other. They have both been practicing with new sounds, they love to hear themselves talk. The older babies love to paint and play in the leaves and play in squishy colorful spaghetti noodles too.

We will be welcoming Rowen to our classroom. We are very excited for her to join us. Rown has an older sister, Emery in the Preschool Room

Younger Toddlers
Cold weather is fast approaching, time to dig out gloves, hats and all that fun stuff.

Please check your child’s extra clothes to make sure they are size and season appropriate and that there are at least two sets.

We are very excited that holidays are coming. We have so many exciting activities and projects we will be doing. The first 2 weeks will talk about acorns and squirrels and where they live and what they like to eat. We will learn about the Mayflower and the Pilgrims. We will learn where they come from and why we are celebrating Thanksgiving.

Please remember to check your child’s folder daily for important notes and art work. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Older Toddlers
It’s hard to believe that November is already here. so far we have been blessed with amazing weather, but soon it will be cooling off so please be sure your child is dressed to go outside to play. The theme we will be working on is fall.

In the classroom we will be doing fall activities as well as outdoor exploring. We will be talking about the fall season. We celebrate the fall harvest by making our own orchard full of apple trees, pumpkins and other squash as well as corn and of course scare crows to keep those pesky animals out. We have some awesome books lined up to help our children understand the growth of an apple from seed to fruit, and books for looking at all the diversity in the changing environment around us especially the leaves. Our focus will be on counting numbers one to ten and colors, but we will still be practicing shape recognition as well as our alphabet. The end of the month we will switch focus onto Thanksgiving and talk about all the special things in our lives we are thankful for. We hope that you will join us for our Thanksgiving party in our room that week, there will be a sign up sheet in the room closer to the date. We hope you enjoy all our artwork and fun songs were learning this month and we thank you for working with us as a team to help your child blossom into a brilliant young mind.

Preschool
November is the month for being thankful. We are so thankful for so much in preschool- our friends, our families, fun activities, learning and growing…the list goes on and on. We are really enjoying looking at all the changes fall is bringing- especially the beautiful fall leaves.

Last month, we reviewed our shapes and started working on our letters and numbers. Please expect to continue to see homework coming home to help reinforce the concepts we are working on.

Please join us in wishing the following friends a very happy birthday: Aaliyana and Scarlett.
This month, we will be focusing on the following topics: Rainforest, Family and Friends, Pilgrims, Indians and Happy Thanksgiving. We will have a Thanksgiving Feast, so please keep an eye out for more details to come. We will be working on letters D, E, F and G and the numbers 4. 5. 6 and 7. We will use various materials to explore these numbers and letters everyday in the classroom and on our walks.

Please be sure that your child has a complete change of weather appropriate clothing. Please be sure your child is dressed for the weather- as we are still going outside daily. Please check your folders daily for important information and artwork. As always, thank you for your continued. Support and for sharing your children with us.
